Meeting the Sado River
“Meeting the Sado River” is a proposal for a time travel, a journey through history and places where, at different times, Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs, among others, sailed with their mighty ships to the interior of the Alentejo.
Today, it is still possible to navigate some stretches of the river Sado, particularly from Setúbal, or from Tróia, to Alcácer do Sal, so we offer you the possibility to know this important route, used by several civilizations for more than 2,500 years . Duration of the program – 4 hours (Program to be carried out in function of the tides).
This program is carried out in traditional Sado boats, historical vessels closely linked to the salt activity in Sado and that have been adapted for leisure and tourism functions, constituting authentic living museum pieces.
If you want to promote and stimulate your friends, colleagues or collaborators in your company outside the normal working environment, in an environment of intimate contact with the nature and history of the River Sado, try organizing a boat trip guided by the river Sado, right in the heart of the Natural Reserve, where you can feel the tranquility of all the surrounding nature, as well as its landscape, dominated by salinas, rice paddies, pine forests and the wonderful world of birds.
